Editorial standards

How Shiftpedia guides are sourced, drafted, checked and fixed.

  1. Sources come first

Sources sit at the foot of each guide. A claim that no source backs is cut or labelled as common practice.

  2. Drafting and checking

Each guide is written by AI. Software then lines up each fact with the listed source, and a review model built by another AI company looks over the facts before the guide is posted.

  3. Worked examples

An example is marked as an example and uses round numbers to show the method. It is never presented as a real case or a real count.

  4. Not advice

Guides give general information, not wage and hour, payroll or legal advice. Check the rules where you work.

  5. Fixing errors

Errors are corrected on the page itself. To report one, go to Corrections.
